Glueck, Nelson
(1900-71)
   American archaeologist. He was born in Cincinnati. He was director of the American School of Oriental Research at Jerusalem (1932-3,1936-40,1942-7), and at Baghdad (1933-4). In 1947 he was elected president of the Hebrew Union College. His writings include Explorations in Eastern Palestine, The Other Side of the Jordan, The River Jordan, Rivers in the Desert and Deities and Dolphins: The Story of the Nabateans.
